One Size Doesn’t Fit All
Let’s talk about it…
Every person’s situation is unique. We begin by discussing any past experience in therapy, what you found worked for you or what didn’t work, and of course what you are hoping for in terms of support from a counsellor. I then make changes to my approach based on your needs with the intention of providing the most effective support possible.
My aim in any therapy session is to support you in a way that you find helpful while holding a safe enough space to challenge beliefs and behaviours that no longer serve you.

How My Process Looks
I work alongside the clients I serve instead of taking the lead. Together, we will discuss what brings you into counselling service and the kind of support you may need as we begin our work together.
While listening and taking in information, I’ll also ask you some questions. The questions I ask are to know your experiences as you have lived them—as our social locations likely differ and the world responds to each of us differently. Also, of course, I don’t know you better than you know yourself.
What You Can Expect
You can expect that I’ll tell you what I am thinking and how I am formulating my approach to our therapy sessions. I will check in with you about the pace of our conversations as well as your comfort level, and I will never push you to share information that you do not feel comfortable sharing.
In the session, I aim to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental presence along with the strategies and resources to manage what is happening, depending on your individual concerns. I hope that at the end of your therapy session, I hope you feel supported and leave with some practical tools to help you manage what life throws at you.
